The Beginning Story

Everton Shareholders Association approached Arts2u to produce a play to celebrate a great football player, William Ralph Dean.  John Keith and I (Gillian Beattie, Director of Arts2u) merged interest on this project to produce a blockbusting stage production.  Our premiere, held at Crosby Civic Theatre 5th May 2008.  Marked Dixie Deans 80th anniversary of scoring 60 league goals in one season.  Due to its success it has traveled to many venues throughout Merseyside and now London!

 Heralded as Merseyside's greatest hero The Dixie Dean Story captures the life and career of William Ralph Dean performed by Steve Hazlehurst and narrated by John Keith.
